2015 Home Run Derby Draft

It’s that time of the year again! Baseball Rebellion will be holding their annual Home Run Derby Draft in what looks to be a very exciting field of veteran and rookie hitters.  JK Whited is looking to bag his third victory in a row, after embarrassing Chas Pippitt in last years derby.  Since Chas lost last year, Gabe Dimock will be stepping in as the new kid on the block looking to dethrone JK from the number one spot and take away his Home Run Derby hat trick.

As always we will have a lot of fun and provide insight to some of the most explosive swings of the derby.  Stay tuned for next week’s posting when we will show the swing breakdowns and the winner!

I love the technical stuff from the Rebellion – but equally as important, you have fun with the game.

I got Donaldson winning the crown against Joc in the finals, just a little dissapointed that Bryce Harper is not doing it. The hitters i mostly want to see are Harper, Giancarlo, Trout, and Bautista. and maybe Javier Baez if he could. If you could pick any player who would it be?

JK Whited

Zekai,

Yeah man all those guys are great to watch for a lot of reasons. They have incredibly athletic swings that we like to promote. Griffey Jr. is my favorite player of all time and he could step in there today and win it!!! YOU CAN TAKE THAT TO THE BANK! As far as today’s players go, I would have like to see Giancarlo back in there again just for the monster bombs. He’s just so much bigger than the other guys.

I think either pujos or prince

Paul,

Can’t argue with that. I think this years style of play throws a wrinkle in how we picked out guys. Going to be a good one!

I like Joc as well.
Btw I was watching Sunday night baseball yesterday and heard Oral Hershiser (at least I think it was him) talking about Jung-Ho Kang and other Asian hitters who tend to hit with high leg kicks. Oral said that this style simply doesn’t work over here (MLB). Apparently he hasn’t seen much of Donaldson, Joc, Bautista, or Hanley.

Evan,

It is hard to watch some games with commentators like that. He just doesn’t do his homework. What really bites is that he gets to speak to millions of people watching every year and he continues to spew out bad advice/comments. He is for sure not the only one but those guys need to catch up a little, especially with all the evidence that slow motion cameras show us.
