Addison Russell has always been a talented hitter but lacked a fluidity in his stride that would take him to the next level. Russell’s addition of a leg kick has accomplished this and raised his potential ceiling. Baseball Rebellion compares Addison Russell’s swing from the beginning of his rookie season to his swing towards the end of that same year. Russell has worked on his leg kick during the offseason and maintained it into this year’s spring training. We are excited to see the results of his new hitting mechanics!

    Would you say having strong hands are beneficial for a hitter?

      Pete,

      I suppose strong is always better than weak, but I’m not sure that spending copious amounts of time doing wrist rollers would be beneficial over body movement improvement work.
